Many companies promote a “license review” or “optimisation” service which more often than not identifies an under licensing position that you as a client need to manage. All too often you will receive unsolicited follow up calls from different resellers all offering to help you with your imminent license purchase.
In Nymad’s view this is the wrong approach and seldom ends up with the client in an “optimised” position.
There are many factors which determine an optimum total cost of ownership for your Oracle solution. At Nymad they believe that you should review all component parts of the solution in order to most efficiently optimise your total spend.
Nymad work with you to review your; hardware requirement, virtualisation requirement, functionality requirement and also your user requirement. Putting these factors altogether may indicate for instance, that a server refresh to allow for a cheaper database edition is more cost effective than purchasing additional licenses. Alternatively, it may just be a case of segregating a virtual farm to make better use of existing assets without the need for any additional purchases.
For Enterprise Agreements Nymad are working with a number of clients to help them understand their actual consumption in advance of an EA renegotiation and put in place strategies for ongoing commercial management.
